The Wachs House was designed by architect Irwin Stein and was built sometime between 1958-60 for dentist Dr. Wachs and his young wife. The home features a distinctive diamond shaped roof pattern, 22 foot high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling glass panels. Luckily, the new owners are practitioners of the mid-century modern lifestyle and are dedicated to preserving the architect’s original vision of the home. Irwin Stein studied with Paul Rudolph at the University of Pennsylvania. He began his successful career in 1956 and would eventually design over 150 mostly residential homes in Philadelphia and Florida.
